Domestic automation made easy by Selectronic wall mounted controls the way forward in homes
A leap forward in domestic automation by the use of wall mounted controls will allow home owners the latest technology to control and manage their appliances and devices, thanks to UK company Selectronic.
And the Witney, Oxfordshire, based company is well placed to assist customers with the move from mechanical or electrical switch boxes to enhanced, wall mounted controller touch screen TFTs and sub systems.
Over recent years, with enhanced and automated lighting controls and applications such as underfloor heating and wi-fi controlled thermostat upgrades to make the home more controllable, there has been a driving force as well as the need to offer greater savings on heating costs as well as improved security demands.
Now, with all these driving forces pushing the move to small screen controllers that fit within the standard wiring systems in our homes, Selectronic’s engineering team has stepped up to the plate. Selectronic has the ability to help design outer casings and rear mounting configuration customised so that the control unit can be installed utilising the standard plug box fitting.
By taking control of the complete assembly the Selectronic engineering team can work with our customers and suppliers to update the domestic controls so that they can be directly located into the fittings commonly found in homes,” said MD Kevin Dry.
This ensures that systems can be updated or fitted retrospectively, allowing new, more automated, controls to be utilised.
As Selectronic can oversee the selection of the TFTs and control driver systems that most easily tie in with the customers design brief, a re-designed or upgraded product can be quickly realised.”
Dry said Selectronic’s in-house design capability – both at the Selectronic HQ in Witney and with their Chinese partners – gave a “real edge to the service we provide”.
It enables us to work closely with customers to configure control units with the right TFT display, touch panel screen, drivers and controls and to oversee the whole outer casing and mounting solution to provide a complete service.”
He added: “A new feature within the Selectronic website outlines the creative approach taken by the teams both in UK and China to produce the final TFT or OLED design solution that could work for any customer’s application.
In addition, from the website our design drawings can be directly uploaded so that we can begin working on customers’ concepts to help bring them to the point of realisation.”
Selectronic, celebrating its 40th year in 2019, is a leading UK company delivering innovative custom solutions on-time and on-budget to its customers world-wide.
