User Interface Display Panel for ICON by Crane
Engineering teams from Crane Merchandising Systems and Selectronic have now developed an all-new front panel solution for the latest Crane Hot Beverage Machines.
Consisting of a 5” TFT Module and a 23-position touch operated beverage choice panel, this solution offers easy beverage selection and a colourful display. This is achieved using a whole area touch panel lit by integrated LED’s. The complete selection area is protected by 6mm toughened glass, to provide protection – whilst providing a challenge for the touch electronics!
The Selectronic designed front panel communicates directly with Crane’s main processor to indicate beverage selection, and the TFT provides customer guidance and confirmation of the selection. This was achieved using a Selectronic designed custom software solution.
The whole project was on a tight development and production plan with Selectronic delivering a proven hardware and software solution on time and within budget.
The ICON product is now in full production with the concept now being rolled out to the new Crane CALI machine.
The project has been a major development success for Crane and Selectronic with the teams based in UK and China delivering the whole project in a timely and cost-effective manner.
